Barcelona, Day 1.

Another thing I forgot about blogging is HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO COME UP WITH A POST TITLE.

"Day X" isn't going to be a thing, btw, since I have like 150+ days here...

Anyway, honestly? I'm already sad because I keep thinking about how I have merely 5 months here because guys, I LOVE IT HERE. I mean, I haven't explored outside the area surrounding my hostel in Les Corts, but I LOVE IT HERE ALREADY.

it's summer so obviously I should have expected it to be hot but I didn't expect it to be this hot. My mom, as we were walking in the heat, "Why is it so hot here like KL?"

Obligatory street photo

Fun thing #1: People love it when you speak Spanish to them.

The proprietress of the hostel I'm staying in said my Spanish is "muy bien" when I legit just asked the location of the nearest metro HAHA. Incentive to learn more Spanish!

The only problem is that when you ask questions in Spanish to people.............they actually reply in Spanish. So if you're me who doesn't speak Spanish beyond the questions I ask people... "No me entiendo...*smiles sheepishly* Ingl├ęs?"

Fun thing #2: I had paella de marisco.

It tasted exactly like nasi goreng seafood I'm crying.

More fun things tomorrow I hope!

Halfway there.

Before my flight, I imagined that a 10 hour transit in Dubai Airport would be hell.

Reality? It's probably purgatory. You roam the airport searching for a good spot to spend your time, end up sleeping on the lounge chair for what it seems hours...and wake up to find that only 3 hours have gone by and you still have a chunk of waiting to do.

*cue rage*

Expectation: I will make use of the time I have and make a dent of my TBR.
Reality: I just want to sleep...again.

It's now 11.28am as I write. I've been here since 5.30am. My flight to BCN is at 3.45pm.

So now we wait?

Now we wait.

Until later,

A hello post.

Oh lordy I forgot how much I hated Blogger draft. Back in those days, I used to write on Windows Live Writer and published my posts from there. So much better formatting...

Honestly I don't know what I'm doing here. I've been contemplating about reviving this blog for a while, and tonight I just...did. After I hid all the old posts, though; nobody needs to read sad, depressing, and slightly morbid stuff I wrote circa 2013-2015, and wayyyyyyy TMI posts in the years prior.

You can say that (almost) 26-year-old Lisa knows better than to put every single minute detail about her life on a public blog. Yikes.

Moving on,

Bio update: (almost) 26-year-old Lisa is now a postgraduate student in the same university she's been attending since she was 18 (...jfc). Still spends too much time reading and buying and hoarding books. Still very much loves pizza.
Life update: I'm leaving for Barcelona tomorrow where I'll be living until February as a part of an exchange program.

So the revival of this blog is somewhat for that; so I can write about my adventure, + a space to talk about books, hopefully. Not sure if I could be committed to book blogging full time since I'm so not the most coherent and expressive person in the room, but we'll see.

Awkwardly signing off.........until later.
